Fermacell Gypsum Board is the ultimate building board for internal use and external rainscreen applications.
Fermacell Gypsum Fibreboard is ideal for internal use as a moisture resistant board, or externally as a backer board by combining high levels of fire resistance, acoustic insulation, impact strength and moisture resistance in one board. Composed of a Gypsum, water and paper mix, Fermacell is 100% recyclable. Gypsum Fibreboard has been approved for use as a backer board in vented and insulated rainscreen applications. When applying Gypsum as a backer board, please note that discolouration may occur due to moisture absorption in the board surface. A surface treatment is recommended for prolonged exposure prior to the installation of the cladding system.
Internally, Fermacell offers a high resistance to moisture and mould making it a popular choice for a tile backer board. The building board requires minimal additional work prior to decorating and wallpaper and tiles can be applied directly to the board for a smooth finish.
